Residents Call for Needed Street Light Repair
According to residents in the Shore Acres neighborhood of Staten Island, a broken street light has left them in the dark for nearly a year. Area residents have resorted to using flashlights while walking their dogs or taking a stroll down the unlit street.
In a community with lots of vehicle and foot traffic, as well as children and pets, the unlit street certainly poses a hazard, particularly in wintertime when the sun sets so early. It appears that residents aren’t sure where to turn, or whose responsibility it is to maintain the streetlights. They certainly hope the light is repaired before someone becomes injured walking down the street at night.
